TwitterFacebookGoogle+Share

Welcome back to the HomeAcre Hop!

Your hosts are:

Ann from Summers Acres

and me!

We’d love to stay in touch! A follow on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Etsy, Google+, Bloglovin’ or by email would be wonderful!

Our soon to be finished chicken coop.

Here on our homestead we are getting ready for the long awaited arrival of our chickens!!!  In less than a week we’ll be driving to the hatchery to pick up eight day old Rhode Island Red pullets.

I am beyond excited.

Brace yourselves for endless photos and posts about our chicks.  We have a “nursery” prepared with a brooder and husbie has been working to finish our coop so it will be ready when they are big enough to take possession of it.

Yesterday we were happy to talk chicks with Meredith at Community Chickens.  You can read the interview here.

So then, in light of the chicks coming soon….

Here are my favorite posts from this past week:

From Mama Economics: Free Chick Life Saving Guide

From the Murano Chicken Farm: Brooder Basics

I also enjoyed…

  2. Good luck with the chickies! We just got our first ones early this year. They were sooooo cute. They grow up so fast. Ours are now almost ready to start laying.

  3. Thank you so much for highlighting my post on Using Vintage Cookware. I knew it was a post that would speak to my heart evoking memories of grandma’s cooking, but I love that others are enjoying it as well. LOVE the hop!
